Using "created by" in the workflow escalation process

QUESTION
Our current workflow is set up to route to 12 Change Advisory Board members for approval. The request must receive 8 approvals in order for the request to be approved. This part is working as designed however, the issue is after an hour an a half of non approval (8 approvals) the request should be escalated from the 12 members request workflow to a Manager Approval request workflow. 


Is there any way to get this to escalate to the manager approval request workflow?

“Created by “ option is currently unavailable in the Workflow Participant filed.
You can create a UDF field for “Created by” which gets populated by an stored procedure and then use it in participant section.
