Warning on Scheduling Conflict dialog in MSP

Question:
While linking a project in MSP the message below generated. What is the difference when selecting either Cancel or Continue in the dialog shown, or in fact click on Cancel button instead of making a selection and then OK ?

=Message=
Planning Wizard
This action will cause a scheduling conflict. Task 18 of '...Mpp' has a task constraint or is linked to a task that cannot move. As a result the constraint or the link cannot be set.

You can
1- Cancel, avoid the scheduling conflict
2- Continue, allow the scheduling conflict
[OK] [CANCEL]

Answer:
This is a dialog displayed by Microsoft Project (not by Changepoint Add-in) due to a change being done on the project, e.g. change of start or end dates or duration of a task or assignment …etc.

For example, “Update project and resource-level nonworking days and calculate resource maximum units” option would impact the assignment dates and/or durations therefore may cause this dialog to be displayed.

Selecting Cancel + OK or pressing Cancel directly will cancel the attempted change to avoid the scheduling conflict.

Selecting Continue + OK will allow the attempted change and the reported scheduling conflict will occur as a result.

Unfortunately there is not enough detail in the dialog; it does not say what the action is, and does not specify whether the conflict dialog may have been triggered due to task 18 being a predecessor of another task, or due to the constraints on the task or on the linked tasks. The project manager will need to examine the task and the linked tasks and adjust the plan if need be.
