Automatic email notifications stopped

Symptoms
Our Changepoint application has stopped sending out the automatic email notifications when specific incidents/requests are created; modified and closed.
The following message is generated in the web server event log.

Error/Warning Messages
Unable to start Changepoint Notification Service due to version incompatibility.

Source: Changepoint Mail Service
Description: Unable to connect to database. Ensure the SQLSettings parameter in the CPMail.exe.config is correctly set and encrypted.

Reason
Incorrect CPEmailNotification.exe version installed

Resolution
Uninstalled the current CPEmailNotification service and re-installed the proper version as per the version table of your Changepoint database.
