Symptoms

Error when trying to access the web services API http://localhost/CPWebService/WSLogin.asmx

HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized

You are not authorized to view this page due to invalid authentication headers.

 

Reason

Anonymous user identity what is configured on the API website does not have access to the web services API folders. 

Resolution

Modify the anonymous user identity from the specific user account to "Application pool identity".
