New custom field not visible in profile page

Symptoms

A new configurable field has been added to the project entity. In system management, the layout of the Edit-Screen has been modified to display the field within a certain section in the 'General' tab. This is working fine when editing the project.

Yet, when displaying the project page and checking this section in the 'General' tab the new field is not there, although it has a value.

 


 

Answer

The layout for configurable fields can be different when editing an entity (edit screen) and in view mode (profile page). If the new field has been added into a certain section in the General tab of  the edit screen, it will still show up in the Configurable fields tab in the Non-categorized section in the profile page.

 

Solution

To see the configurable field in the same place in the edit screen and in the profile page, the layout modification has to be made twice. Once for the edit screen and once for the profile page.
