Not able to cancel the upload of a project in MSP

Symptoms:
The ability to abandon an MSP edit is lost if the project is saved using either File Save/Save As or Autosave (Save Options in MSP). The project data in MSP is uploaded back to Changepoint upon File-Close; MSP does not ask whether or not you wish to save the file.

If File-Save/Save As or Autosave is not used earlier, then MSP does ask whether or not you wish to save the changes when closing, and allows the user to abandon any changes made in the plan.

Reason:
When closing a project plan, MSP would prompt for confirmation if there are unsaved changes in the plan, and it would not prompt if the plan has not been modified since the last save. This behavior is by design.

Workaround:

If auto-save is enabled and if users wishes to abandon uploading of the modified plan, the “Do you want to save changes …” prompt can be triggered by making a small change before closing the plan, i.e. change a date or task name to trigger the prompt, and click on “No” in the prompt to avoid saving and uploading.
