Issues with SSO and Load Balancer (2012)

Symptoms

SSO is not working in a load balanced environment, although it is working when configured on each IIS alone.

Error/warning messages
Various 'The page cannot be displayed' errors in Enterprise and System Manager.

Reason

Sticky sessions are enabled on the load balancer.

Resolution

The use of sticky sessions is not recommended for a load balanced environment.
