Cannot save request although it is assigned to a workflow step

SYMPTOMS

A user is assigned to a request workflow step, but when opening the request for editing, there is no save option. Thus the user assigned to the workflow step cannot modify the request.

 


 

RESOLUTION

Being assigned to a workflow step allows a user to select an outcome for the step, like e.g. approved or rejected. It does not provide the user with edit access to the request. So it can be, if configured likewise, that a user is assigned to a workflow step but he is not entitled to edit the request.

In order to grant edit access to the user, please edit the workflow state properties in the access tab.
