"Cannot connect to the notification server " error when opening the PPW

Symptoms

When accessing the PPW, the following message occurs :

"cannot connect to the notification server. Please contact your system administrator"

Error/warning messages

In the Event Viewer of the web server, the events are : 

First event : 
Request URL :
http://servername:8070/rest/api/reso...sno=undefined& =1528360747264
Request path: /rest/api/resourcescheduling/views


Second event :
An unhandled access exception has occurred.
Application Path: D:\Changepoint\Websites\Enterprise\WebSockets\
Request URL : http://servername:8070/WebSockets/Si...1.5&CPSession=

 


Reason

WebSocket configuration and installation is correct but not sufficient access rights for the WebSocket folder. 

Resolution

Provide rights for the Application Pool user to access the WebSocket folder path.
