Coloured icons are not transferred to Excel

SYMPTOMS:
In specific reports colored icons (RED, GREEN, AMBER) are used to represent the status of particular areas. When exporting the rendered Report Designer report to Excel, these icons are not exported.

REASON:
Icons are not transferred to Excel, this behaviour is by design.

ALTERNATIVE:
Conditional formatting can be used for defining different font or background colours instead of using images. Such conditional formatting is being transferred to Excel during the export.
