How to set up WebDAV for Cognos 11
Cognos 11 does not use a gateway component on the web server, but instead uses ARR (application request routing), which conflicts with WebDAV browsing for images.
To use WebDAV with Cognos 11:
- Create a virtual directory in the Enterprise website, for example: webdav_images, but outside the \ibmcognos path.
- Copy the images into the corresponding physical directory on the web server. This setup works for reports that are rendered only in HTML.
- For reports that can also be rendered in PDF or Excel format, you must add a copy of the images on the Cognos application tier server.
To add images to the Cognos app tier server
- Verify the path that is used for images found by WebDAV browsing (for example: \webdav_images).
- Create a corresponding folder on the Cognos server (for example: C:\webdav_images).
- Copy the images to the corresponding folder. If a relative path is used, then the image folder must be within the Cognos installation within the \webcontent folder.
- Test running reports as HTML and also as PDF.
