Project Workflow step assigned to a deleted resource

SYMPTOMS
A workflow step is reassigned to a resource and the resource is deleted after the assignment. It is not possible to transfer the step to another resource anymore as the deleted resource is not available in Transfer Records page in System Manager. The workflow step was originally assigned to the "Project Manager", which is a system defined participant. How can the step be taken away from the deleted resource record and assigned back to the PM?

 


 

RESOLUTION
Reset the Workflow Process Instance in System Manager. This will allow the step to be reassigned to the system defined participant "Project Manager".
