255 character limit in MSP

Symptoms:
There is a limit when assigning several people to a task. Following message is displayed by MSP:

Error/warning messages:
The selection is too long and will be truncated to 255 characters

Reason:
This message may appear if the text is longer than 255 characters. The message does not prevent assigning more resources, however.

Resolution:
If resource names are longer than this limit, you can add more resources using one of the methods below:

- Double click on the resource names to display the resource list in the task information dialog
- Press “Shift+F2” for displaying the same dialog
- Select “Split” from the Window menu to display the resource names in the bottom half of the window
