By default, is not possible to save a Cognos report as a file. If the "Save" option is selected, then when the scheduled report is executed, Cognos saves a report output version to "My folders."

However, you can change the location where the output is saved. In Cognos 11:

  1. Switch to the classic (Cognos 10 style) administration to configure the schedule.
  2. In the delivery options, click "Edit the save options...".
  3. Click "Select another location ..." to choose the destination folder.
