Error linking MSP project: "A new version of Changepoint COM Add-in component is available..."

Symptoms

Error when trying to link a project in MSP:

"A new version of Changepoint COM Add-in component available. Please install it from the Preferences screen in Changepoint Enterprise."

Reason

MSP Add-in version does not match the version in the database.

Resolution

Reinstall the MSP COM Add-in.

If the error continues, ask the administrator to install the latest version of the MSP Add-in to the Changepoint environment, so that it can be downloaded by the users.
