Email Template parameter values not getting generated correctly v2010

Symptoms


Created an email template (e.g. PTS-001 WF Requires action) with entity type 'Candidate' and used it to send workflow step assignment notification. A record is getting generated in EmailQueue with this template when the workflow step is activated, with correct assignee's email address. The problem is, the parameter values are not getting generated correctly.

Regardless of the  parameters used in the subject of template, the actual paramer value in the email queue is always null. And for email body parameters, either some parameter values are missing or are in incorrect sequence. The same applies for templates  created for Project and Request.

 

Reason

This is by design. Entity parameters should not be used for workflow, they are added manually.


 

Resolution

When selecting the parameters by right clicking and adding them to the template, the workflow does not recognize them.

The correct syntax for the parameters needs to be entered manually. These parameters are to be inserted manually.
