How to assign a workflow step to a user selected in a configurable field?

 

Answer
You can assign a workflow step to a resource that is selected in a configurable field by selecting a configurable field as the participant for a step.
You must make sure that the field is mandatory to ensure that a value is entered in the field. If the field is left blank, the active step will not be assigned to anyone and the workflow will stall.
 

Note: Only resource and role entity-based configurable fields are supported.
