Why there is an error message when trying to enter a valid postal code for an address in England?

The error message is:
"The format of the ZIP/postal code is invalid. The acceptable formats are: XX#X #XX"

 

 

Answer
The pattern set in System Manager is too restrictive and cannot take into account all different ways to write a UK postal code.
To be able to insert a UK postal code, disable the pattern check in System manager:
- go in General Setup, Zip / Postal Code Validation
- choose the appropriate country (i.e. United Kingdom)
- clear the checkbox
