How is the access check on Candidates/Opportunities done?

Please check the security access guide of your Changepoint version for details.

Changepoint-v2014-Security-Access-Reference-Guide

In summary:

If you have ‘MAO’ (Manage all candidates) you can see all candidates, no matter what is configured on the candidate.

If you have ‘MDO’ (Manage Workgroup Candidates) but not MAO, you can see all candidates where you have workgroup access to the client managers workgroup, no matter what is configured on the candidate.

If you have ‘VO’ (View Candidates) you can see all candidates that can be seen by all users or where you have been added in the access tab. Only in this case the configuration in the access tab is taken into account.

If you have VO and MDO then MDO is stronger, i.e. you will see the Workgroup Candidates. You won’t see candidates in workgroups that you don’t have access to, even if you’re added in the access tab. This meand a user with VO and MDO might see fewer candidates than a user with VO.

On top of that, in all cases Billing Office/Cost Structure access check is done.
