Cannot add "Total" section into a budget view (2017)

QUESTION

A user keeps adding the section [Total] into a budget view, but the change doesn't save.

ANSWER

The section [Total] cannot be added in one step. Please first add this section, then click on it. Now on the right side of the window the columns available in the [Total] section are displayed. Choose the columns which should be displayed. If no column at all is selected there, no [Total] section will be added to the budget.
