What conditions prevent the opportunity item dates from being changed based on the close date?

One or more of the following conditions would prevent the opportunity item dates from changing based on the revised close or actual close date of the opportunity:

  • opportunity is locked or deleted
  • opportunity is linked to an engagement
  • outcome is lost, no outcome, or other
  • the initial close, revised close, or actual close date is in the past (that is, today or earlier)
  • the selected billing office is deleted
  • the dates for opportunity items would be later than the available fiscal periods (for example, fiscal years have been set up till 2020 and changing the opportunity dates would result in some data being in 2021)
