Server error when signing into Changepoint

When trying to connect to Changepoint, a server error is raised.

Exception: Cannot load Counter Name data because an invalid index 'W3SVC_W3WP' was read from the registr

This is a Windows server issue, not a Changepoint issue. It is most probably due to a section in the registry becoming corrupted during the application of Windows patches.

This can be fixed by running the windows command:

  LODCTR /r

If the first exectution results in an error, rerun it a second time.
