Cognos scheduled report is not sent out via e-mail

SYMPTOMS:
A scheduled report in Cognos is not sent out via e-mail.

REASON:
The schedule was created using an admin user account which does not have a valid e-mail address.


RESOLUTION:
Modify the e-mail address of the admin user to be a valid e-mail.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Another user having write access to the report can also create a schedule.

Without the write access, it is also possible to create a report view of that report under "My Folders" and then create a schedule for the report view.
