Removing the “Knowledge Item” in the General menu

QUESTION:
Is there any way to remove the Knowledge Item search menu option in the general tab for all user's except specific roles?


ANSWER:
This is a feature driven option. Having ‘view knowledge items’ feature (or ‘edit’, ‘create’ or ‘delete’ knowledge item features) makes this option available in the general list. Any user with ‘view knowledge items’ feature also has the ability to search knowledge items.
