What are the considerations when changing the cost rate from billing role to resource?

You can change the rates from roles to resources in the Billing Office, however in order for it to work properly , each resource needs to have the cost rates defined in the User Setup screen .
Here is some additional information on how this works and exactly what it will update.

1) When in the billing office you change from billing roles cost rate to resource cost rates the rates will be updated in the existing engagements and candidates.

Please note that the cost rates will not updated immediately for the project time and request time.
Project time and request time will be updated when the scheduled job runs : Update Time Rate job .

2) The Update Time Rate job should handle all time records affected by the change and the cost rates will be updated in the time, requesttime, preinvoicedtime and preinvoicedsupporttime

3) Hourly rate or daily rate is controlled by the billing type of engagement ( we can use daily rates or hourly rates). If the engagement is set to use daily rates the daily costs rates will be use, if the engagement is set to user hourly rates then hourly rates will be used. When update time rate job is run it will populate into time/request time tables the daily cost rate or hourly cost rate.
If in the user profile page you will only set up daily cost rate and the engagement is using hourly rates then the cost rate for time records will be 0.
