How to change billing roles within an engagement already invoiced?

QUESTION
We recently realized that we need to change our billing rates for an engagement that we already invoiced and have submitted time to. Since we have already invoiced time we cannot make changes at the task level or engagement level billing rates. How can we issue the credit note, then transfer the time to a new engagement at the correct billing rate?

ANSWER
In order to issue a credit note at the correct billing rate:
1. Create a new billing rate on the engagement a that needs to be edited and make that billing rate” active. (The incorrect billing rate needs to be inactive.)
2.Set the effective date for the new billing rate. You can set the same date that was chosen for the wrong/old billing rate. If you set a different new effective date, the “Update time rate” job needs to be run.
-If the invoice in question is committed, it cannot be edited. User can create a credit note and re-invoice the time records with the new billing rate.
-If the invoice is approved, it can be sent back to draft status. In order for it to pick up the new billing rate, it needs to be resubmitted and reapproved

Please note that Time can only be transferred from one project to another if they are approved and not yet included on an invoice. Since the time in question have already been invoiced, it is not possible to transfer it to another project.
