IPI Metrics are no longer being generated (v2014)

SYMPTOMS

IPI metrics have been set up and were working fine last year. But this year, they're no longer being generated.

 


RESOLUTION

Most probably, the reporting periods for the new year have not been set up. To fix this:

1. In System Management - Resources - Performance management, create a new reporting year.

2. Edit the metrics to be generated and set a target for the current and future months.

3. Edit the metrics to be generated and assign it to the resources to be reported on. This can only be done for the current or a future month (not for the past).

From now on, metrics will be generated again, and assignments will be carried forward into future reporting periods automatically. So it is important to set up the new reporting year (step 1) before the end of the current year. Then, steps 2 and 3 will not be required in the new year.
