What happens to existing time records, field workgroupid, when a resource is retroactively reassigned?

A user is resassigned to a different workgroup with a past effective date and the user has already entered time after that date. Upon checking the database after the reassignment, it seems that the time records are not updated to reflect the new workgroup, is this correct?

 


 

Answer
Existing time records that should get the workgroupid of the new workgroup are not updated in real time during the reassignment. The update of the existing time records is done by the job 'CPEffectiveDates'. This job typically runs once every night, so when the workgroupid for existing time records will be checked on the next day, it will show the correct (i.e. new/updated) workgroupid.
