Product Technology and Architecture Certification

The Changepoint product is certified for the configurations specified in the Changepoint Product Technology and Architecture Matrix document. The matrix document outlines the supported versions of the enabling technologies that are required by the Changepoint product. The technologies include the operating systems, service packs, database versions, etc. The matrix document is reviewed and updated with each release of the product. The configurations listed in the matrix document are certified and supported through the Customer Care program.

Changepoint Corporation provides support to customers only for the technologies used or deployed with Changepoint that are listed in the matrix.

Customers may choose to deploy technologies other those listed in the matrix, and work with the suppliers of the technologies to configure, deploy, and to provide ongoing support and maintenance. Changepoint Corporation does not necessarily have the expertise to assist customers with their selection and implementation of these technologies. For this reason, Changepoint Corporation does not provide support for the technologies beyond those listed in the compatibility matrix nor does it provide consultation regarding the configuration of specific vendor technologies.

The Changepoint certification program is designed to test a common set of technologies required by the product and to be responsive to the introduction of new versions and releases of the enabling technologies.  The Changepoint Technology and Architecture Certification Policy acknowledges that it is not possible or practical to certify all possible configurations and advises customers to consult with the vendors of the specific technologies. If issues arise, Changepoint Corporation reserves the right to offer support at its discretion. Changepoint Corporation may choose to offer assistance on a "best-effort" basis, or alternatively, provide assistance as a billable service at the customer’s request.

Third-Party Software Support Policy

New Releases of Third-Party Software

Changepoint Corporation will strive to ensure the Changepoint product is compatible with all dependent technologies within 180 days after the first day of general release of the dependent technology. New releases of the dependent technologies will be certified only with stated release of the Changepoint product. For example, Microsoft SQL Server 2016 is certified with Changepoint 2017 but not with older Changepoint releases. The Changepoint product compatibility certification may be adjusted due to the Changepoint release schedules and/or the availability of the new versions of the dependent technology.

Server-side dependent technologies include: Server OS, Web Server, .NET Framework, SQL Server.

Client-side dependent technologies include: Client OS, Browser, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office.

Third-Party Service Packs

  1. Changepoint Corporation will strive to validate the most recent version of a Third-Party Service Pack (database or OS) during the maintenance release testing cycle for a particular version of the Changepoint product.
  2. The Third-Party Service Pack must be generally available 25 business days before the Changepoint Service Pack GA date.
  3. Previously-tested Third-Party Service Packs will remain on the Changepoint Product Architecture and Technology Matrix document (available on Client Portal). However, the Changepoint Service Pack under development will not be regression tested with previously released Third-Party Service.

Third-Party Hot Fixes

Hot Fixes (for example, Microsoft Hot Fixes) that meet all of the following criteria will be certified during the maintenance release testing cycle:

  1. The Hot Fix pertains to the latest Release or Third-Party Service Pack certified with the Changepoint software under
  2. The Hot Fix is rated as “Critical” importance and is related to the Changepoint hardware or software requirements.
  3. The Hot Fix is generally available 20 business days before the Changepoint GA date.

A Cumulative Hot Fix is treated the same as a single Hot Fix.

Software Compatibility Matrix/Changepoint Product Architecture and Technology Matrix

The Software Compatibility Matrix (previously the Changepoint Product Architecture and Technology Matrix) document identifies the versions of the dependent technologies that are certified with the Changepoint product, including Service Packs and Hot Fixes. The matrix document is revised regularly to reflect recent certifications.
