What are the conditions to display products in Requests Product drop down?

QUESTION:
What drives the values that appear in the Product field drop-down on a Request? 
 


ANSWER:
What affects the availability of a product in a request is the “Available For: Requests” checkbox and the Close Date; if the close date is a past date than the product will no longer be able to be selected for Requests even if the “Available For: Requests” checkbox is still checked.
