Removing Canceled option in Tri-state approval step gives an error when trying to activate workflow

ISSUE

In the tri state approval step I have removed the Canceled option and saved the workflow. We need only 2 options: Routed to and Approved.

When trying to activate it the following error appears:

ERROR

The split condition configuration for step the [step name] is incomplete and may stall the workflow. Please configure the conditions for the following step statuses: Canceled

REASON

Tri-State step expect 3 branches for each of the outcomes: "Routed to", Canceled, Approved

RESOLUTION:

If you need only 2 options to branch into on the split decision tab, use Action step.
