Cannot open file attachment URLs using Chrome

Using Chrome, it is not possible to access file attachments, i.e. hyperlinks in the form file:// ....
The same link works when accessed through Internet Explorer.

This is a Chrome security restriction, and nothing can be done on the Changepoint side.

There are workarounds available for Chrome by disabling security options (see "http://www.chrome-allow-file-access-from-file.com/" ) but they will require manipulations on all client workstations.
