Option to add item to portfolio not available

SYMPTOMS
Users cannot add items to their new portfolio. The only filter criteria available is portfolio or SQL. When they select portfolio they have the option of selecting All or the Project portfolio they created. Neither of these options gives them any projects to select from. How can the projects get added to the portfolios?


ANSWER
This is because the 'rollup portfolio’ checkbox was selected on the portfolio.
In the General tab, if the ‘rollup portfolio’ is checked, then users can only select from portfolios.

If they want to create a project portfolio, this checkbox should not be selected.
