DotNetInstaller error when uninstalling or installing Changepoint MSP Add-in

One user when trying to install (or uninstall) the Changepoint MSP Add-in is getting the error message below. Restarting the PC did not help.

Error/warning messages:
"DotNetInstaller has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Reason:
There are pending Windows updates, including .NET updates.

Resolution:
After installing pending Windows updates (which included .NET updates) it is possible to install the MSP COM Add-in without problems.
