A resource was not activated and now cannot be activated manually (2014 )

SYMPTOMS

A resource was created yesterday with activation date today. For some reason the resource has not been activated today. If we try to assign it to a workgroup manually today, the change isn't saved.


RESOLUTION

1. Check the set up of the job CP Effective Dates as per the installation guide. This job is responsible for activating resources that have been created with a future activation date.

2. To clean up the data manually, open the resource profile and go to 'view pending changes'. From the action menu, choose to remove the latest workgroup change. This will cancel the pending activation that had not been executed. After this, you can manually assign the resource to a workgroup.
