"Select a cost center" error when editing billing roles under a billing office

SYMPTOMS:
Then trying to update billing role names under a billing office, an alert is displayed saying the cost center is missing, but there is no cost center to choose from.

ERROR/WARNING MESSAGES:
Select a cost center

REASON:
A cost center must be selected for every billing office therefore the "Cost center" field is mandatory. The field was not mandatory in previous versions (e.g. v2012), which was acknowledged as a defect and the field was made mandatory in v2014 sp2.


RESOLUTION:
Create a default cost center via Finance-> Cost Centers menu, and then continue editing Billing Offices. Name it as "Default" and enter "Not used" for the segment fields; there is no need to create any "Burden rates".
