V2012 Default values for request fields (assignee, custom fields)

QUESTION

Is it possible to set the assignee of a new request to the project manager of the associated project? Also, is it possible to populate custom field values based on the associated project?

 


ANSWER

It is not possible to set the request assignee or a custom field to a value based on other request data, like the associated project.

As a workaround, a workflow stored procedure (WFCalc_ ) or a calculated custom field stored procedure (CPCalc_ ) might be used. But they will be invoked only when the request is saved, not when a user opens the request dialog to create a new request.
