The Changepoint and ChangepointUnsecured packages are under Team content. The Cognos Consumers role requires Run permissions to each of the packages because the data models are contained (but hidden) under the package folder.

If you add report folders under the Changepoint or ChangepointUnsecured packages, then it is recommended that you change all permissions for the Consumers role to Read for all child folders. This allows all users to view and navigate through the report folders but prevents them from being able to run the reports. You can then grant additional permissions to only the users that need to run reports.

The following options avoid the need to specify the permissions for each subfolder:

  • Option 1: Create a subfolder under the Changepoint or ChangepointUnsecured package and change the Consumers role permissions to Read and apply this to all children. Create all report subfolders under this folder so that they will inherit the Read
  • Option 2: Create your report folders at the same level as the Changepoint or ChangepointUnsecured packages and grant Read access to the Consumers role. All reports and subfolders under these folders will inherit the Read

Best practice:  Use the Changepoint namespace groups (that is, the Changepoint Roles) to grant Run access to specific folders and/or reports.
