How could we proceed in the encoding of numeric equivalent outside the allowed range +/- 999.99? v2009

Symptoms:

The numeric equivalent of UDF is defined as numeric(5,2) therefore we receive an error message when trying to enter values between 900 and 3000.

How could we proceed in the encoding of numeric equivalent outside the range of +/- 999.99?

Error/warning messages:
Enter a number between -999.99 and 999.99 in the field [Numeric Equivalent]

Reason:

This behavior is by design, it is not possible to enter a numeric equivalent greater/less than +/- 999.99.

Resolution

Values that need to be entered into this field are integers varying between 900 and 3000.
Alternative solution is to divide these values by 4 when entering them into Numeric Equivalent field in System Manager. There is a one-to-one correspondence between the integers within 900-3000 range and the real numbers between 225.00-750.00 range.
