Symptoms
During the installation of the Sync Utility, the Cognos server name and Changepoint web server name need to be specified. Can this be changed after the installation? These values are nowhere to be found in the .config file of the Sync Utility (CognosClientTools.exe.config).
Reason
These values are written into the Cognos Framemaker configuration (Sync Utility Pre-requisites) by the Changepoint Sync Utility installer.
Resolution
In order to change these values after the installation, go to c:\program files (x86)\ibm\cognos\c10\bin and launch the program cogconfigw.exe.
In the window that opens, click on 'Environment'. Then you get several configuration values, including the Gateway URI (Changepoint web server) and Dispatcher URI (Cognos App Tier server). Change these values to match your environment.
Note: On the Cognos server, Cognos components are typically installed in both c:\program files\ibm\... and also c:\program files (x86)\ibm ... For this reconfiguration of the Sync Utility, make sure to change the one in c:\program files (x86)\ibm...
