Delegated workflow step has been actioned by the resource itslef and not by the resource delegated to

SYMPTOMS

A resource X has delegated workflow approval rights to another resource Y. But when checking the workflow history, we noticed that some steps have been activated by X and not by Y. Shouldn't all t he steps be activated by Y now?

 

 

ANSWER

Unlike time and expense approval delegation, workflow approval delegation allows approval by both the original resource and by the one delegated to. So when resource X has delegated to resource Y, both X and Y can action a step that is assigned to X.
