Why are FTE amounts auto-distributed differently when task assignments have the same resource, duration and dates?

FTE amounts are distributed based on the working days between the planned start and planned finish dates of the task assignment. The amounts are calculated when any of the following occur:

  • new task assignments are created
  • existing task assignments are edited (planned start, finish, effort, and so on)
  • during the project rollup for affected task assignments

For performance reasons, FTE amounts are not recalculated for existing task assignments when the nonworking days are changed for a resource. Therefore the FTE amounts for task assignments that are created after the nonworking days have been changed may be different from the amounts for task assignments that were created before the nonworking days were changed.
