Is it possible to hide the request subcategory field? (2010 SP2)

QUESTION:
Is it possible to hide the request subcategory field like in Metadata ?

ANSWER:
No, it is not possible to hide the subcategory request field.
It's only possible to delete subcategory request values from the interface.

If you don't want that resources use a specific subcategory value without removing it, you can modify the label of your subcategory with a suffix like "don’t use for new request".
