What determines when a reminder shows up in 'My Reminders' portlet that the task needs statusing?

Here is the criteria for a task status reminder to appear:
- The project must be active
- The task must not be complete
- The task/assignment must not be locked
- The project is configured to require task status updates
- If the task is used in any kind of Metric, then the restriction for locking does not apply, i.e. even a locked task would appear in the my reminders.

For the dates criteria, system compares the following:
- The last status date of the task, if the task has never been statused the planned start will be used
- The first status required date of the project + the appropriate number of weeks added, as per the configuration of the week. " The system calculates a status 'due date' based on the latest of the project's 'first status date' and the task assignment's planned start date and the project's 'status every x weeks' setting. Then it compares it to the last status update done. Quick example: if the project's 'first status' date is a Friday and the 'every weeks' is 1, it expects a status update every Friday. If I did a status update yesterday, I wouldn't get the reminder that a status update is due this Friday. If I did a status update last Thursday, I'd get the reminder that another status update is due.
I have a user that did a status update on ALL her task in My Reminders last Tuesday, why did she get the notice in her My Reminder yesterday? I would have thought it would have come today instead? Her email screen shots are attached.

As for the 3 levels of possible statuses required, if the project is set as ‘status required’ on the project level, then the status will be required for all task assignments under it, unless the checkbox on the task level saying status not required is set, or at the task assignment level saying status not required. Otherwise it is required and reminders will show up.
If this is not set at the project level as status required then the checkboxes on the task and task assignments are not relevant.
