In Changepoint we have an hierarchy of product categories several levels deep, thus forming a tree of product categories. What is the best way to delete such a hierarchy of categories? Can we just delete the root product category and all the rest below it will automatically be deleted as well?
ANSWER
Please delete the product categories one by one, starting at the bottom. Although it is possible to directly delete the top/root product category, this is not recommended as it can leave orphan product categories in the database.
This is considered a defect in Changepoint V2012/V2014 and a fix is planned for a future release. This would then allow to delete just the top category and everything below would be automatically deleted as well.
