Exchange sync service doesn't install

SYMPTOMS

After installing the Exchange Sync Service with the installer, the service is not there (missing in the service control panel). The install log shows an error:

ERROR

Rolling back assembly 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Changepoint\Changepoint Exchange Synchronization Service\CPSynchronizationService.exe'.


RESOLUTION

During the installation, a popup asks for a username and password. For the username, please make sure to prefix it with the machine name (workgroup installation) or with the domain name, like in DOMAIN\USERNAME
