Option 'Force Fixed Fee selection' not checked by default on Task

QUESTION:
On an Engagement ‘Force fixed fee selection is checked in the Billing information tab (Billing Type is Mixed - Fixed Fee/Hourly).

Now, when users creates the Task under this Engagement why is the ‘Billed to fixed-fee portion of the Engagement’ field not checked by default ?


ANSWER:
The following rules are applicable :

1. If Engagement is mixed billing type (fixed fee/hourly or fixed fee/daily) you should be able to create both kind of tasks, therefore checkbox on the task level " Billed to fixed-fee portion of the Engagement" won't be checked by default but if you do select it, and check-box " Force fixed fee selection" on the engagement is selected, then the drop-down for Fixed-fee selection on the task level becomes mandatory.
2. If Engagement is Fixed-fee billing type, then the check-box on the task is checked by default. If on such engagement "Force fixed fee selection" is selected, selection of the fixed-fee on the task will be mandatory. If "Force fixed fee selection" on the engagement is not selected, this drop-down won’t be mandatory.
