Releases are deployed during the standard maintenance windows.
- Features that are ready will enter GA status in the first month's release of each calendar quarter: January, April, July, October. There will be an occasional variance from this schedule. You can enter a support request to move a beta feature into your production environment.
- You can request that beta features be enabled in your production environment by entering a support ticket. Please note that any issues you find will be handled during the normal development cycle.
- Planview sends out status emails in advance of planned releases/updates. These alerts include the date and time window of the update, as well as a link to the release notes that include a list of the issues addressed in the update/release. - We hold a live product release webinar - typically on the Wednesday before the production release. This webinar will be hosted by PPM Pro product management and consulting personnel, and will include time for Q&A. Click here to register for the March 18th release webinar. |Data Import||894647666||Fixed. Importing mapped fields with the exact same title as the entity field works as expected. Titles can contain up to a maximum of 80 characters (SSA prevents you from entering more than 80 characters). Previously, an issue was causing the import to fail if the mapped field was over 70 characters.|
Fixed. Some leftover references to "Expenses" (deprecated feature) have been removed from the UI:
Fixed. Field titles are not rich text fields, and as such, they do not support HTML. In other words, if you title your field <b>Field Name</b>, it will render as <b>Field Name</b> and not Field Name. In the past we have not technically prevented the use of HTML in field titles (though we strongly advised against it), and now we will be disallowing this practice because it caused layout issues in the UI, issues with data export, import, and WS API, where HTML isn't supported, as well as potential security/XSS issues. We might consider providing a rich text option in the future. If this is of interest to you, please enter an enhancement request.
|Filters||1003323226||Fixed. Filters for multi-select lists that use "contains any" operands now return correct data (one or more of the list values match). Previously in some scenarios these filters did not return data.|
|Filters, Portfolios||1001744092||Fixed. Filters using "does not contain" on linked portfolios works as expected. Previously no data was returned.|
|Internationalization, Tasks||1000150649||Fixed. When using the Swedish locale, updating the task Duration field to use 0 days (dagas) works as expected. Previously, the string for time units of zero duration was not translated to Swedish, which caused an error when attempting to save.|
|Issues/Project Logs||982423744||Fixed. Renegade "Visibility" field no longer appears on the Details of Issues/Project Logs after creating a new category that specifies default fields only. This field has long been deprecated as a result of the updated (enterprise) permissions model.|
|List Fields||972611860||Fixed. Lookup lists can be mapped to user-defined legacy "UDF pulldown list".|
|Localization||905100817||New. There is a new setting called "Default Locale" on Admin/Organization/Info in the Localization section. This is a required field whose value supplies the default for all users' preferences. Users who need to use a locale other than the default can choose a different locale in their user Preferences. Previously there was a Locale field that contained a list of countries, which is not always mapped to a single locale. This new field allows a specific locale to be set for an organization - the user can still override in their user preferences. Note that if you change the locale at the Organization level, the new setting does not propagate to existing users.|
|Managed Staffing, Performance||971543197||Improved. Using the out-of-the-box filter "+Recently Updated and Routed to Me" on the Resources/Staffing screen renders results in a snappy manner (quickly), as expected. Previously users experienced a lag when loading resources with the filter "+Recently Updated and Routed to Me".|
|Multi-select List Fields||968340752||Fixed. If a multi-select list item is made inactive, the item value will still display in fields where the list is in use. Previously, if the list item was de-activated, the item ID was displayed instead of the value.|
|Multi-select List fields||960414939||Fixed. The (multiple/view all...) option is available for multi-select lists with 2 or more active items. Previously, an issue was causing (multiple/view all...) to be grayed out if the list contained only 2 active items.|
|Improved. The formatting of email notifications has been improved: an extra blank line is no longer inserted and bulleted/numbered lists render correctly.|
|Permissions||964747164||Fixed. Members of the Organization group can create Divisions, as expected. Previously, these users were receiving an Access Denied message when trying to create a Division.|
|Improved. When a new entity category is created, the UI correctly shows permissions for the new category as unchecked. Previously, an issue made it appear that the category was granted permission (had a checkbox next to it), but the check did nothing. The system was adhering to the correct behavior (user must physically select the category), but it appeared to not work because the box was not actually checked.|
|Reports||979266210||Fixed. Reports based on the Resource Planning for Project Roles report source for a selected portfolio and its sub-Portfolios are working as expected. Previously, if the report included "Actual" fields, the report threw an error.|

|Reports, Timesheets||977895026||Fixed. On Timesheet reports with drilldowns, members of the Organization standard group can click the drilldown and view the associated timesheets as expected. If the user is a member of Time Manager group, they can drilldown and edit the timesheet. Users without permission to view/edit the timesheet will not be able to access the link. Previously an error was thrown when a user with the correct permissions clicked the drilldown, and an unpermissioned user could see/click the link (resulting in an error).|
|Requests||1000145860||Fixed. When in card view, cards can be dragged from one lane to another, provided the card is configured correctly (for example, can't move cards when view grouped by Gate Status). Previously an issue prevented cards from being dragged between lanes.|
|Requests||976356870||Fixed. When configuring a request field in SSA, the name of the selected field appears over the right panel. Previously, the field name was not being displayed.|

In addition to being able to approve requests, Time users will also have implicit permission to edit requests for which they are approvers in order to satisfy scenarios where they have been asked to provide additional information on the request. Request approvers have implicit permission to edit the request after it has been submitted.|
|Resource Staffing||964666844||Fixed. On the Resources/Staffing screen for managed staffing, the Group By drop down is now sticky - when you leave the screen and return, the drop list will display the Role that was selected when you left the screen.|
|Resource Workbench||976281487||Fixed. The Find Eligible Demand and Add Staffing Entry functions on the Resource Workbench work as expected. Previously, an issue was preventing the list of projects (according to relevant permissions) from rendering.|
|SSA||964089810||Fixed. (If PMO Lock enabled) On a project's Details, the Category field - can be set to Show on Edit = Yes - Editable (PMO Lock). Previously, an issue prevented this option from displaying.|

The message now explains the problem and includes the number of characters in the current note. Previously the system threw an "unknown error".|

|Timesheets||990242425||Fixed. In Home/Timesheet Approvals, Timesheets ready for Final Approval appear in the tab without a browser refresh. Previously, after PM approved a timesheet the timesheet did not appear in the Final Approvals tab until you refreshed the browser.|
|Timesheet Alerts||1005688551||Fixed. Final Approvers are receiving alerts in response to the actions "Resource submits timesheet needing final approval" or "Last PM/alternate PM approver approves timesheet". Previously an issue was preventing the notifications to Final Approvers from being sent.|
|UI||987625714||Fixed. When the Title/label of a UDF text box wraps onto two or more lines, the height of the text box remains unchanged, as expected. Previously, if the Title wrapped onto multiple lines, the height of the text box was reduced to one line.|

In the Home/Timesheet or Home/Resources views, user interaction with the UI has been improved to ensure the table grid is consistent between panes regardless of how you scroll down. Previously, if you narrowed the right side to the point where the horizontal scrollbar disappeared and then scrolled down the left side, the sides became unaligned.|
