Out-of-the Box Permission Profiles

The following profiles are provided by PPM Pro and represent a minimalist approach to profiles. Note that you can further streamline the profiles: for example, you want to grant a certain user/group/unit permission to create ALL types of entities, you can condense the four "Create" profiles into one that contains a Global rule for each entity type. This is how we configured Admin for Project/Portfolios/Assets, for example. The Team profiles are for use when granting permission to specific entities; global profiles profile give the specified permissions to all instances of the selected entity type. Profile Name Rule Type Description
1) Basic View Team Use when adding a user to entity teams. Allows view access to the entities.
2) Full View Team

Profile to be used when adding a user to entity teams. Allows view access to the entities, including financial information. 

3) Basic Edit Team

Profile to be used when adding a user to entity teams. Allows view and edit access to the entities.

4) Full Edit/Delete Team

Profile to be used when adding a user to entity teams. Allows full view, edit, and delete access to the entities.

Admin for Finances and Internal Rates Global

Gives Admin group access to Finances and Internal Rates setup.

Admin for Project/Portfolios/Assets Global

Gives Admin group full access to Projects, Portfolios, and Assets.

Create Assets

Global

Gives selected Groups the ability to create Assets.

Create Portfolios Global

Gives selected Groups the ability to create Portfolios.

Create Projects Global

Gives selected Groups the ability to create Projects.

Create Reports/Dashboards/Filters Global

Allows listed users to create reports, dashboards or filters.

Owner Permissions Owner

Gives the owner of an entity the specified rights on that entity. Note that rights to delete are not included by default, but you can add later. You can reduce owner privileges to a minimum of View/Edit Details.

Resource Availability - View Global

Profile to be used in a special access rule for a unit in the Unit Hierarchy. Users associated with this profile can see resource availability of all users and run Capacity and Demand reports for resources across the organization.
