Portfolios: Out of the Box Fields

PPM Pro provides a set of fields for every entity - these fields are referred to as "standard" or "out-of-the-box" fields. You build your entities using a combination of standard and user-defined fields (UDFs). A subset of fields appear on your entity's Detail panel by default to help get you up and running quickly; a subset of those default fields are labeled "mandatory". You can remove any of the default fields except the mandatory ones - those must remain on the Details. See Required vs Mandatory Fields for more information. The complete list of standard and UDFs can be found on Admin/Setup/All Entities/Portfolios/Available Fields, and definitions for all the standard fields are in the table below.

Actual Cost - Direct Cost of actual hours charged directly to this portfolio
Actual Hours - Direct Actual Hours charged directly to this portfolio
Allow Time Entry Determines if time can be logged against the portfolio.
Budget Cost  
Budget Cost To Date If complete date is not NULL and in the past, then Budget Cost to Date = Budget Cost. Otherwise, (Portfolio Budget Cost/number of work days in the portfolio date range [earliest start to latest target of sub-portfolios and portfolio projects]) x number of work days in date range [start date to current date].
Budget Hours  
Budget Hours To Date If Complete Date is not NULL and in the past, then Budget Hours to Date = Budget Hours. Otherwise, (Portfolio Budget Hours/number of work days in the portfolio date range [earliest start to latest target of sub-portfolios and portfolio projects]) x number of work days in date range [start date to current date].
Budget Revenue  
Budget Revenue To Date If complete date is not NULL and in the past, then Budget Revenue to Date = Budget Revenue. Otherwise, (Portfolio Budget Revenue/number of work days in the portfolio date range [earliest start to latest target of sub-portfolios and portfolio projects]) x number of work days in date range [start date to current date].
Category Categories are types, or variations, of an entity.
Class A class is a grouping mechanism for categories, and is represented by a tab on the UI.

Components Actual Cost Variance The result of Components Budget Cost to Date - Components Actual Costs (which includes costs from all member projects and sub-portfolios).

Components Actual Revenue

Components Complete Date Variance The difference in work days between the portfolio's complete date and the latest complete date of all member projects of the portfolio and all sub-components. This field is emply until all member projects of the portfolio and all sub-portfolios are complete (status closed and/or complete date present).
Components Start Date Variance The difference in work days between the portfolio's start date and the latest start date of all member projects of the portfolio and all sub-components.
Components Target Date Variance The difference in work days between the portfolio's target date and the earliest target date of all member projects of the portfolio and all sub-components.

Sub Portfolio To Date Budget Cost (Non-Cap) Sum of non-capitalized Budget Costs to-date from all sub-portfolios in the portfolio.
